Rann Movie Free Hindi Film Raan Review ,Poster

Rann movieRann Hindi Movie starring Amitabh Bachchan as Harshvardhan Malik, Sudeep as Jay Malik and Ritesh Deshmukh as Purab Shastri is released on 29th Jan 2010.

The film is directed by Ram Gopal Varma and produced by Madhu Mantena and Sheetal Vinod Talwar

Rann exposes on the games the heavyweights in the media who play to further their interests.

Ram Gopal Verma goes behind the scenes and the newsrooms and throws light on the politician-businessman-industrialist-media nexus. Also, it’s an insider’s story of how the media, the news channels who are greedy for ratings blow news out of proportion to get attention.

The story of Rann is about Vijay Harshvardhan Malik (Amitabh Bachchan) who is the owner and founder of a private news channel, India 24/7.

Jay (Sudeep), his son, eyes his news network to make money

He hates when he knows that his competitor (Mohnish Bahl) is doing better than him.

The story of the film changes when a corrupt top politician, Mohan Pandey (Paresh Rawal), uses the news channel to his advantage by using Vijay’s son-in-law Navin (Rajat Kapoor).

Pandey wants to be the Prime Minister and gets into a vicious campaign against his political opponent thru the channel.

In fact we don’t know what happens behind the scenes and how, so many times, news stories are ‘created’ by vested interests. This movie Rann scratches the surface and opens a can of worms

The movie has been directed by none other than Ram Gopal Verma (RGV) and has Amitabh Bachchan, Reitiesh Deshmukh, Sudeep and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles. The movie also has Gul Panag, Neetu Chandra, Rajat Kapoor, Mohnish Behl and Rajpal Yadav.

Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of Vijay Harshvardhan Malik, a founder of a private news channel, India 24/7. Because of his journalistic ethics, his channel is battling it hard for survival. Jay, played by Sudeep, his son looks at  his father’s channel as a pure business enterprise and thinks that it must anyhow make profits to stay in the race and survive. He hates that his competitor, Mohnish Behl is doing it so well, better than him.

The story gets interesting when a corrupt politician, Mohan Pandey (Paresh Rawal) wants to use the channel to his advantage by using Amitabh’s son-in-law Navin, played by Rajat Kapoor. Pandey aspires to be the Prime Minister and starts a vicious campaign against his political opponent.

Paresh Rawal, seen in an RGV film after a long, long time, is at his vicious best. Rajat Kapoor is incredible. Mohnish Bahl gets the role of a lifetime and he sinks his teeth into it. This film should open new vistas for him. Gul Panag is natural and so easy on the eyes. Neetu Chandra does her part well. Suchitra Krishnamoorthy is too good. Rajpal Yadav contributes to some funny moments. Neena Kulkarni and Simone Singh are perfect for their parts.

On the whole, RANN is truly a well-made film. No two opinions on that. The film should be patronised by viewers of serious, sensible cinema. Recommended!
